Microsoft's gaming division reported solid revenue growth in the first quarter of this year. This was thanks in part to the growing popularity of Game Pass on PC. The corporation is also doing well on the PS5.
Recently, we have been witnessing a thorough change in Microsoft's gaming department strategy. The company has abandoned exclusive titles and its games are more often released on competition's consoles as well. The corporation's new financial report shows that this approach is already starting to bring tangible benefits.
Cloud gaming is also developing fast. From January 1 to March 31, 2025, players spent over 150 million hours playing on xCloud. This is the first quarter in history when it was possible to exceed this threshold.
