Keanu Reeves is Canon in Cyberpunk 2077

The new song advertising the upcoming work of CD Projekt Red shed some light on Johnny Silverhand and Keanu Reeves. It turns out that both are canonical characters in the universe of Cyberpunk 2077.

We will have to wait a little bit longer for Cyberpunk 2077, but thanks to regularly published promotional materials we can explore the game world even now. As Eurogamer noted, the latest music video brought some information about Keanu Reeves - turns out he just became an actual character from the world of Cyberpunk 2077.

The band Run the Jewels, which will appear in the game as Yankee and the Brave, created the song "No Save Point". But what distinguishes the single from other hits created for the game? The lyrics of the song feature the following fragment:

Keanu Reeves, cyber arm under my sleeve

This is a reference to Keanu Reeves, but not as the actor playing Johnny Silverhand in the game. It turns out that before the so-called Collapse-era, a moment in the history of the in-game universe, when the megacorporations came to be, there lived a little-known actor by the name of Keanu Reeves. After the disappearance of Johnny Silverhand, Reeves was repeatedly confused with the famous frontman. This was due to the incredible similarity between the two gentlemen.

Thanks to a tweet published by Patrick K. Mills, senior task designer in Cyberpunk 2077, we know that Keanu Reeves is a canonical character in game.

Cyberpunk 2077 will launch on December 10.
