Mafia III PC troubled by technical issues and 30 FPS lock

Mafia III is now available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Unfortunately, many fans are disappointed about the game, especially the PC players, who complain about its overall technical state and 30 FPS lock.

The long-awaited Mafia III is finally here, but that’s the end of good news, especially for the PC players. While there are currently no reviews from official gaming media (interestingly, 2K haven’t provided any review copies of the game), Steam users’ opinions and Metacritic User Scores speak volumes. PC players’ biggest complaints involve poor optimization, low-resolution textures, technical issues and animation locked at 30 FPS. The developers at Hangar 13 promise an update that will give the option to play Mafia III at higher framerates on PC (60 and unlimited FPS) and include other corrections. The patch is now being tested and is expected to go live this weekend.

The question still remains how good the next Mafia game really is, not to mention the technical issues. Although we can’t share any professional opinions with you, players don’t seem too enthusiastic about Mafia III. Some mention too arcade driving model, unequal level of graphics and low enemy AI. On the other hand, fans seem to like the overall atmosphere, interesting storyline and characters, as well as great soundtrack and voice acting. By the way, check out the official Mafia III launch trailer. But seriously, “not an actual game footage”?
