Max Payne Celebrates 20th Birthday; Devs Thanked Fans in Special Video

It's been 20 years since the release of the first Max Payne. The developers decided to celebrate this anniversary with a special video in which they thanked the fans.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Max Payne just celebrated its 20th birthday;
  • The creators celebrated the anniversary by releasing a special video;
  • It featured James McCaffrey, the actor responsible for the main character's voice and Sam Lake, who lent max his face.

Max Payne first arrived on our computers and consoles in 2001. This means it's been 20 years since the iconic game's release. Devs at Remedy decided to celebrate this anniversary with a special movie, which was recorded by two people responsible for the voice and appearance of the main character. Thay are James McCaffrey, who dubbed the policeman and Sam Lake, who lent him his face.

In the video they thanked all the people originally responsible for creating the series. Sam Lake admitted that not many of them remained in the ranks of Remedy. In addition, both men expressed their appreciation to fans of Max Payne who still share their memories of the game with the studio today. Without that kind of involvement, the game would never have achieved the iconic status it enjoys today, they said.

Finally, Sam Lake reprised the iconic jacket worn by Max in the game. In the background, we heard a narration by the voice of James McCaffrey. Unfortunately, fans who at this point expected the announcement of the next installment of the series must reconcile with the sad reality. The last released part remains the third game from 2012. At the moment there is no indication that something should change in this regard.
