Need for Speed 2022 Rumored to Feature Cartoon Elements

According to new rumors, the visuals in Need for Speed 2022 will offer a combination of realistic cars and locations with cartoonish elements. In addition, Autolog is expected to return.

We still don't know when the next installment of Need for Speed is coming out. However, new reliable rumors about what the game will offer have appeared in the web.

NFS 2022 - cartoonish visual elements and Autolog

The source of these reports is usually a very well informed journalist Jeff Grubb from Venture Beat. He revealed the new information in a recent episode of the GrubbSnax podcast.

  1. The game is expected to feature an unusual visual style, combining realistic views with cartoonish elements.
  2. According to Grubb, most of the gam will be photorealistic, but these views will be overlaid with animated elements, such as cartoonish exhaust flames. In this regard, the devs were inspired by sports car commercials, among other things.
  3. Autolog will return to the game, which is a social network, making the multiplayer mode more attractive. Players will also be able to modify most elements of the cars.
  4. The action of NFS 2022 will be set in Lake Shore City, a fictional version of Chicago.
  5. The developers want the metropolis to give the impression of a vibrant place, and not just a static background for racing.

According to earlier reports, the new NFS is to be released this year pn PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.

The project is being worked on by studio Criterion, known from the Burnout series. Ghost, the team responsible for the four previous installments of the series, is currently undergoing restructuring, but some of its employees are said to have been delegated to help with the new Need for Speed.

  1. Need for Speed - official website

According to previous rumors the next installment of the series will be a return to the atmosphere of Need for Speed: ProStreet. If you want to return to the PC version of this hit, it is worth to look for some useful mods.

  1. Generic Fix - improves gamepad controls, removes fps cap, adds fuller support for high widescreen resolutions and fixes a number of bugs.
  2. NFSPS HUD Adapter - adjusts the HUD to any resolution, including those added by mods.
  3. NFSPS HD Reflections - improves reflection effects.
  4. NFSPS Extra Options - enables us to configure graphics and gameplay beyond what the official menu offers.
  5. Windows 10 Fix - a project for people who have problems running the game on the new Windows.
