The end of of Colossal Order's summer series of articles by no means meant that the developers let us forget about the second Cities: Skylines. On the contrary, the developer has made an effort to make sure fans remember the upcoming release of the second game. In preparation for the debut Paradox Interactive has published a gameplay that constitutes the first part of a kind of guide to Cities: Skylines II.

It will consist of three videos, developed in cooperation with a youtuber by the handle Timeister. In today's material, the internet user discussed the first steps on the way to building a smoothly functioning city.

If you followed the developer's summer diary posts and spent many hours in the first Cities: Skylines, most of the information provided in the video should be familiar to you. Nevertheless, it is something else to apply this knowledge in practice and avoid mistakes that may result from forgetfulness (or habit). It is better to remember that - for example - in the sequel air pollution can also be carried by the wind when we build the industrial base of a virtual city.

The next video will focus on further development of the city, including financial issues. These will not be so important at the beginning of the game, when players can count on government support (including benefits for the unemployed), but it will be better not to delay too long in exploring the economy in CS 2.

Cities: Skylines 2 will be released on October 24 on PCs. The game is also heading to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles, but the version for those platforms will debut only in the spring of 2024.
