What’s under the hood of Switch 2? Mid-tier muscle, Nintendo style.
We don’t need to speculate any longer, Nintendo Switch 2 specs are finally out, and now we know what makes this little beast so powerful. Turns out, most of the things from the leaks were right. It really is a bigger, loaded handheld packed with solid upgrades.
It’s been pretty quiet about Switch 2 for a while now, we already got most of what we wanted to know. The release date, the price (which, despite some bumps, thankfully didn’t go up in the US), and most importantly, the new games lineup. Hades 2 will be a console exclusive on Switch 2, just like From Software’s new multiplayer, The Duskbloods. So the only one that was missing was a full spec list, but Nintendo finally dropped that too.
So, Switch 2 isn’t quite on par with Steam Deck, but calling it a mid-tier PC isn’t far off either. It’s definitely a big leap from the original Switch. It’s built for efficiency and portability, with some solid modern features like DLSS and HDR – not raw power. And that was the whole point.
Anyway, only three weeks left now!

Been with gamepressure.com since 2019, mostly writing game guides but you can also find me geeking out about LEGO (huge collection, btw). Love RPGs and classic RTSs, also adore quirky indie games. Even with a ton of games, sometimes I just gotta fire up Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, KOTOR, or Baldur's Gate 2 (Shadows of Amn, the OG, not that Throne of Bhaal stuff). When I'm not gaming, I'm probably painting miniatures or admiring my collection of retro consoles.
