Today, on the eve of the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo has shared some good news. The Direct for the next console will be tomorrow, April 2nd, but on April 3rd and April 4th, we will be treated to two Nintendo Treehouse: Lives featuring Nintendo Switch 2 games. Of course, we have yet to learn what these games will be, but by the end of tomorrow’s presentation we will have a much better idea.

Nintendo Treehouse lives scheduled for the next two days following Switch 2 Direct

The official Nintendo of America account posted the news to social media. The live streams are scheduled for 7:00 am PT on both days, with no specified length. We are now gearing up for three consecutive days of Nintendo Switch 2 news. These Treehouse live streams will likely not be revealing new games or new information about the new console, but it will be the first live gameplay shown for most of the upcoming games, and our first opportunity to see the new console in action as well.

We have also learned today that the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct will last a full 60 minutes. With this being our first look at the new console, we can expect a fair amount of that time to be spent on the hardware itself. There should be an explanation of several main things, such as a confirmation or denial of the Joy-Con-as-a-mouse theory, the mysterious “C” button, and more about what to expect from the second Nintendo Switch.

Ultimately, two of the biggest things fans will be looking for during tomorrow’s presentation are the release date and pricing. Rumors have suggested dates between late May and into July, but June still seems the most likely. Will pre-orders become available tomorrow? Or will fans have time to prepare? Finally, where will the new console fall in terms of price? Many fans hope for something between $350-$400 but $500 is not out of the realm of possibility.

Currently, there are only three known quantities when it comes to software. The new Mario Kart shown during the January reveal trailer should be making another appearance. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, despite confirmation that it is a Nintendo Switch 1 game, should still make an appearance, perhaps showing off the new Joy-Con feature. And finally, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, while also a confirmed Nintendo Switch 1 game, could certainly be featured in tomorrow’s presentation. The Pokémon Company generally does like to do its own Pokémon Presents, however, with the launch of a new console, this is not an occasion to be missed.

Tomorrow’s presentation will certainly hold some surprises, at this point it’s just a question of what. Will there be a new 3D Mario game be revealed? Will there be any exciting remakes/remasters such as The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess or Windwaker? Will there be a new inclusion in the NSO game collections such as Nintendo GameCube or Nintendo DS? The video game world is waiting with bated breath for tomorrow, one way or another it is going to be a huge day.
