If you wondered how a mix between Rimworld and Crusader Kings would look like, dream no more! Here comes Norland – a medieval kingdom simulator that promises to generate stories for you on the go. If that vision strikes you as something that you’ve always been waiting for, but you have access only to an amazing PlayStation, a great Xbox, or a faithful Nintendo Switch, you may be interested whether the game will make its way to one of those platforms. Well, let’s analyse such possibility as it may be a bit more complex.

Norland console (PS4, PS5, Xbox, Switch) release

So, you are interested in managing your own city through hands of a noble family? Norland is made to emulate just that. With such vast possibilities, it may be tempting to just lay on your couch and give orders like a real king. That’s what consoles like PS4, PS5, Xbox, and Switch are for, aren’t they? Will this title give such an option then?

Sadly, there are no official information regarding that from the Long Jaunt studio – developers of Norland. The potential console port has been neither confirmed nor denied, so it’s still on the plate. However, it is important to remember that the game will make its first steps in Early Access program on Steam. With that in mind, it is safe to assume that even if the production will be eventually ported to PlayStation or Xbox, it will happen only after the EA period.

Additionally, strategy games are unfortunately not often converted to consoles. The big factor in this equation is if the title proves to be successful. Even then, if Norland won’t be developed with controller support in mind, there’s a slim chance that the port will happen. Remembering how successful Rimworld was, it still took it 4 long years to be ported to PS4 and Xbox One.

Providing that the stars align, and we will be able to finally enjoy Norland on consoles, it is still worth noting that this title is not very demanding and even older PCs should be able to handle it without any issues. Maybe there is no point in waiting for the port to happen and just dust your old laptop that’s still somewhere in the wardrobe?
