Paradox's big space strategy is about to get a lot bigger. Stellaris 4.0 gets release date, and BioGenesis expansion will provide „power over life itself”
Stellaris will soon receive a lot of new content. Paradox revealed details of Season 9.
Paradox Interactive revealed the details of the development strategy for Stellaris. Yesterday, Season 9 started, during which the major BioGenesis expansion will soon be released, along with the previously announced 4.0 update (Phoenix).
Fans should make sure they have free time on May 5, 2025 - that's when the mentioned expansion and patch 4.0 will launch. The season will bring three more DLCs: BioGenesis (available now), Shadows of the Shroud, and Infernals Species Pack. We haven't learned the exact release date yet, only the approximate deadline in the published roadmap."

What will be found in the upcoming BioGenesis expansion, which is supposed to give players "unprecedented power over life itself"? The expansion will introduce, among others:
- two biological shipsets;
- 3 new origins - Evolutionary Predators, Starlit Citadel, and Wilderness;
- 6 new Civics;
- another megastructure - a citadel in deep space.
As for the two remaining DLCs, Shadows of the Shroud, in addition to introducing new content, will allow us to guide the "spiritual destiny" of the empire through the modified Shroud system. The Infernals Species Pack, as the name suggests, will provide more species that are resistant to very high temperatures.
The above expansions can be purchased individually or as part of a battle pass. For the latter on Valve's platform, we have to pay $44.99.
The Stellaris developers don't intend to remain silent until the release day of the BioGenesis expansion. They revealed a complete schedule of their presentations, in which they will explain the details of the upcoming content. The next such show will take place on March 27 (Thursday) and will focus on biological ships.
