A new update to Project Zomboid: Build 42 will please loyal fans of this survival game. The update focuses on fixing several bugs while introducing many additional items.
The stabilization of the "unstable" Build 42 of Project Zomboid is in full swing - players have just started to get used to the changes from the update released less than two weeks ago, and the developers have already launched another big patch. Although it doesn't introduce any new features to the popular survival game that drastically affect the gameplay, like previous patches, long-term fans of the title should be satisfied with it.
The update 42.6.0 adds a bunch of fresh utility items and recipes needed for their crafting to the game. Project Zomboid: Build 42 has been enhanced with items like leather clothing, jackets, undershirts, keychains, large crystals, and headgear. Several new sound effects were also introduced, such as the sounds of animals destroying the fence. Additionally, missing item icons and interface elements were added.
The patch also changes a lot in terms of food. For instance, it improves the mechanics of consuming certain meals - hunger and thirst are gradually satisfied after eating or drinking, filling individual hunger units rather than all at once. Besides, the effect of poison was increased after drinking toxic liquids, a guacamole recipe was added, and the number of calories received after eating carrion was updated.
The new patch fixes a lot of bugs that affected the gameplay experience. The issue with petting rabbits and the unusual behavior of zombies, which would stop pursuing the player when they hid behind a car, was resolved, among other things. The developers also fixed issues (those in the tutorial) that were causing game crashes and improved some visual effects.
Fans of Project Zomboid are left waiting for the next patches of Build 42. However, it seems that there won't be many more and this version of the game will soon become "stable."
