While playing the game at some point you will be invited to a picnic with a food pile. What is it all about? You will find out soon and learn about bugs that might happen during the event.

Food Pile on the picnic in Paleo Pines

While traversing Veridian Valley on the back of your dino friend Lucky in the first period of the game called Triassea, you can take part in a picnic. There, on blankets, you will see a food pile.

The idea about food pile is to add more food to it. After doing so, it will grow more and more. When it’s big enough, it will lure dinosaurs with uncommon or rarer skins. For that, you will have to wait to the next day for them to spawn. Depending on the type of food you have added to the pile, it can change its properties alluring different dinosaur species You can check the pile, if you want to know what properties the food has.. Creatures will be lured for 1-2 days after the picnic.

If you contribute food to the picnic, you will receive tickets from Owynn to spend at a Corlan stall. The amount of them depends on the pile mass. It is also worth noting that maxing out the pile will unlock an achievement called “Triassea Picnic Master”.

Picnic bugs in Paleo Pines

It can happen that not everything will go as expected. The picnic event can bug out causing some inconvenience to players.

Players have noticed that after alluring dinosaurs to the food pile, and failed attempt to tame one, it can become unavailable to target with a flute again. What is more, reloading the game can cause all the dinos to disappear. It has been found that going back to your farm and then once more to the picnic site makes them spawn again. Also waiting some time in the pause menu can cause them to reappear. Sadly, there can still be one that glitches out and won’t be targetable.

Another bug that has been observed is that reloading the day while the picnic event is active can cause the food pile to vanish. It will be possible to interact with the spot where the pile should be located, but its name would be broken. After that, the players are able to talk to Owynn and obtain a lot of tickets from him as if the food was added to the pile, yet it is still missing.

As you can see, there is a lot that can go wrong with the picnic event. The game’s developers have a lot to work on to make it right.
