The indie game Lonesome Village, which already had a very successful kickstarter campaign, is finally bringing its cute art style and diverse gameplay to the Nintendo Switch.

Today on Nintendo’s official YouTube channel the indie game Lonesome Village was announced for the Nintendo Switch. This game combines a cozy village social simulation, including farming, fishing, and interacting with NPCs, with a puzzle-solving RPG adventure in the strange tower that suddenly appeared near the village. Watch the trailer here.
Lonesome Village originally launched on Kickstarter back in September 2020 with a modes goal of a few hundred thousand dollars, but that goal was already reached within the first 24 hours, with the project ultimately reaching over two million dollars. Lonesome Village will also be coming to the PC and Xbox One alongside the Nintendo Switch.
The protagonist for Lonesome Village is Wes the Coyote, with the other characters also appearing in the forms of various other animals from owls to beavers to fish. The trailer showed off several different environments to explore and puzzles to solve, showing little doubt that this is a game anyone could get lost in.

From dungeon crawling to farming vegetables, there looks like a lot to do in this game already. There even seems to be a small fairy-coyote character, drawing even more connections between Wes and Link, from The Legend of Zelda series, who Wes already appears to emulate in terms of clothing style.
There is a free demo on Steam right now if you are curious to check the game out, but the release date is currently to be determined, with the trailer only indicating that it would release sometime this year.
