Sam Fisher's characteristic night vision device is the hallmark of the Splinter Cell seres.

It all started on January 9, 2019. On that day Luca Ward set up a a new background photo on his Facebook profile showing three lights in a characteristic triangle beside his face, looking just like those in a night vision googles worn by Sam Fisher, the main character of the Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell series. Luca Ward is a popular Italian TV, film and voice actor who dubbed the aforementioned character in the original trilogy and in Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist.

Since then, Ward has been successively posting new material on ssocial media, all of them somehow related to the series: songs from official soundtracks, archive recordings where you can see how he records Fisher's lines in Pandora Tomorrow, fragments of Blacklist's gameplay in the form of animated gifs, or comments encouraging users to share his posts, addressed to all those who can't wait for a new part of the cycle. Yesterday he reposted the Splinter Cell profile background from January 9.

Someone might think that Luca Ward is just a big fan of the series. However, as pointed out by ResetEra user known as FairyEmpire, this is not the first time the actor conducts such a campaign on Facebook. Since the artist is very popular and recognizable in Italy, companies often ask him to comment on certain pages, speak about certain brands, etc. The artist's work is very popular and recognizable in Italy. It is possible that Ubisoft also decided to employ his services. Someone should finally remind Italy of the existence of the Splinter Cell brand before the official announcement of the new part of the cycle, don't you think?

The latest part of the series, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist, was released on August 20, 2013 on PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and WiiU.
