On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the first Splinter Cell, Ubisoft showed concept arts from the upcoming remake of the game and revealed some interesting facts about it.
It's 20 years since the release of the first Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell. In addition to free giveaway of the game to mark the occasion, Ubisoft has released special remembrance material. It also touched, among other things, on the subject of the remake of the first game, confirmed last year. The most interesting part of the video are the concept arts of the game that appear from time to time (you can find both below).
Although these are not the renders from the Snowdrop engine powering the remake, if this is indeed how the models will look in the game, fans are unlikely to complain. Besides, the omnipresent darkness in the drawings perfectly captures the atmosphere of the original. It also has a good effect on immersion - this is a stealth game, after all. See some of the presented graphics for yourself.
The developers mostly said what we've known about the remake for a while now, such as that the game will be adapted to the needs of modern audiences. It was also reiterated that work has only just begun, and the developers don't want to rush into anything too much..
An important point made in the video is the developers' suggestion that the remake may feature mechanics known from other parts of the series. In addition, they would like to create a title that can be completed without killing anyone.
We still do not know how much longer we will have to wait for the release of the new version of the first Splinter Cell.
