Sniper Elite 5 Gone Gold; Nazi Hunt in France Will Begin as Planned

Sniper Elite 5 has gone gold, and this means that the game has been completed. Devs at Rebellion have announced that the release will take place as planned.

Rebellion has announced that Sniper Elite 5 has gone gold. This means that the planned release date is now virtually certain and we are not likely to be surprised by any delays. The next part of the sniper action game series will be released on May 26 of this year.

Sniper Elite 5's May release is now certain

Good news about Sniper Elite 5 come from the developer's official Twitter account. At the same time, the studio encourages is to place pre-orders on the game's website.

"We're thrilled to announce that SniperElite 5 has now GONE GOLD. Our dev teams across Rebellion have done an *incredible* job and we cannot wait for everyone to get their hands on Sniper Elite 5 on May 26th," we read in a post from the creators.

It is worth mentioning by the way that the game will simultaneously launch on Game Pass. The fact that the deadline will be net is undoubtedly good news, the more so in times when delaying launches is a very common phenomenon. Part of the community, however, expresses dissatisfaction with the lack of longer materials presenting gameplay.

"This is very strange. No gameplay footage, just some short promo videos," wrote user b.boy under the developers' post on Twitter.

"I'd like to see a longer gameplay first before I preorder. Even though Rebellion hasn't let me down so far, you never really know how the game will perform. There's a recent trend of releasing unfinished games like Bethesda or EA did. (...) All in all, even if I see gameplay footage, I still prefer to wait for the release and be sure that Sniper Elite 5 will be playable," user CatchyNick echoed.

In response to questions about showing more of the game Rebellion referred players to the recently published trailer, on which we see rather short fragments from the game itself.

Action of Sniper Elite 5 will take place in 1944. We will once again play as Karl Fairburne, who this time will be sent to France to weaken the German fortification system. During the mission the sniper will stumble upon a secret German plan that may lead to the defeat of the Allies.

The game will be released on May 26 on PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox One and Series X/S.
