SpellForce Conquest of Eo Beginner’s Guide - Tips and Tricks

In this guide you will find tips for the game SpellForce Conquest of Eo. Thanks to us, you will become a legendary mage.

SpellForce Conquest of Eo premiered today. It is a turn-based strategy game reminiscent of the Heroes series. Standing at the head of heroes and armies, our task is to avenge the death of our master. Take on the role of a mage in this inhospitable world. Tips in this guide will help you survive.

Crafting

  1. Crafting – this is the mage's power that allows to produce useful items from ingredients found in the game world.
  2. Alchemy – thanks to this mechanic, you will be able to create consumables that can be used to strengthen your troops during battles.
  3. Artificing – allows you to create glyphs that can be assigned to units passively strengthening them or giving them special attributes.
  4. Necromancy – with this skill you will be able to create undead troops.

Exploration

  1. Summon enchanted wisp – whatever magic you like best, this spell should be developed by you as soon as possible. These creatures (despite their usefulness to the plot, which I won't reveal) are able to move long distances. This makes them great scouts.
  2. World variability – as the story progresses and the world is explored, new events will appear on the map. Sometimes this will result in the appearance of a new building, and at other times you will be given a task. These will be solvable in a variety of ways. Everything can ultimately be reduced to combat, but it doesn't always pay off.
  3. Save the game before events – it may not be the most honorable way, but if you want to know the best results of your choices, it is the only possible one.

Domain

  1. Domain – this is your sphere of influence, and the resources inside it go into your treasury. You will expand it in several ways, mostly through Lodges built by your apprentices. You will learn all the methods over time, as the campaign progresses.
  2. Resources run out – over time, most of the resources in your domain will run out, remember that.
  3. Don't get attached to terrain – this is linked to the previous advice. Lodges can be relocated, and as the story progresses you will even learn to move your tower. If there's nothing of value in your area of influence, then simply relocate your headquarters.

Combat

  1. Domain skirmishes – fighting on your land gives you bonuses. If you can, fight on your territory.
  2. Units advance – your soldiers gain experience and new skills in subsequent battles. So do your best to make sure they don't die in them.
  3. Apprentice – these are the generals of your armies, it is worth giving them the best units and sending them into the toughest battles. Troops without them can also work, but are much weaker.
  4. Autoresolve – this is a nightmare for many players, as in many games this feature causes huge losses. However, in Spellforce it seems to work quite competently (or at least on normal difficulty).
  5. Circle – you won't be able to avoid fighting this organisation, especially as the plot quickly forces you to attack it. However, you will also encounter powerful heroes of this faction on the map. These are not automatically hostile to you. Sometimes they may even offer you interesting deals.

Level of difficulty

The level of difficulty is, in part, already determined when selecting a map. There are easier ones and more difficult ones. Of course, it is advisable to choose one of the easier ones as part of your first encounter with the game. Their descriptions will tell you which ones are which. Only after you have chosen a map will you decide on the true difficulty level - remember that it cannot be changed later on during the campaign.
