Star Trek: Infinite, the highly anticipated space strategy game powered by Stellaris' engine, will debut on Steam today.
The game is now available - as is its launch trailer, which has just hit the web:
In a few hours we will see the launch of Star Trek: Infinite, a 4X space strategy that will combine the engine and core mechanics of Stellaris with the setting of the popular TV and movie brand.
The game is generating a lot of excitement among space strategy fans. Many of them have long wanted a good 4X set in the universe of Star Trek, especially since the last notable game of this type was Star Trek: The Next Generation - Birth of the Federation from 1999.
In the absence of new games, gamers threw themselves into creating mods, bringing the Star Trek universe to other 4X games. Here, in particular, we should mention the very popular ST: New Horizons for Stellaris. It's an upscale modification, so we're curious to see what exactly Star Trek: Infinite will offer, to differentiate itself from this fan project.
In the previews, the devs promise big changes in gameplay and an emphasis on the story - each faction will get its own mission tree, with events and challenges inspired by famous situations from the cinema and television installments of the brand.
Finally, it is worth quoting the system requirements of the PC version of the game.
