Starship Troopers on New Propaganda Gameplay

The RTS game Starship Troopers: Terran Command received a short gameplay, in which we can get a closer look at the game's mechanics and visuals.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. We already know what the gameplay looks like in the RTS by The Artistocrats, named Starship Troopers: Terran Command;
  2. The game is to be released "soon", although Steam suggests that it will happen in 2021.

Slitherine posteda short gameplay from its upcoming real-time strategy game Starship Troopers: Terran Command on its Youtube channel . The material presents a group of soldiers fighting space insects. It should be noted, that the footage was recorded in the beta version of the title.

What can we say after this less than 2-minute long video? Certainly that this is what we expected - the game looks really good. You can see that Starship Troopers will require not only proper management of the position of our troops but also divided attention and reflexes in issuing commands due to a lot of chaotic action happening on screen.

The gameplay features a propaganda narrative and pathetic music, reminiscent of action movies drom the 90s, and thus the movie on which Terran Command is based, Paul Verhoeven's Starship Troopers (the director is best known for RoboCop), which in turn was a loose adaptation of Robert Heinlein's classic SF novel.

Unfortunately, based on the footage provided by the devs, we're unable to give an exact release date. The subtitle "coming soon" suggests that the devs don't want to make any declarations and give themselves some time, although the game's card on Steam reads that we will play Starship Troopers in 2021. The Artistocrats, the devs of the Order of Battle series, is responsible for the development of the title. It will be released only on PC.
