The Jump Ship demo is already grabbing the spotlight, and Steam Next Fest June 2025 hasn’t even officially kicked off yet
Don't miss Jump Ship's demo. If you’ve spent plenty of time in Destiny 2, Helldivers 2, or Deep Rock Galactic, this new co-op shooter is definitely worth checking out.
While everyone was busy playing Deltarune or checking out Stellar Blade on PC before its full release, there was another demo quietly stealing the show. After a few rounds of beta testing, Jump Ship finally opened up to everyone on June 2nd, and new players just keep flooding in.
Jump Ship is taking off
The Jump Ship demo just hit a new milestone today, reaching its highest player count yet with nearly 7,000 people playing at the same time on Steam. Not too surprising, though, almost all the feedback so far has been positive:
Ship combat is awesome. FPS combat is great. Movement is fun. All around a good game
A great start with a good amount of polish for a Demo so far, keen to play the full release. Really hoping for a little more feeling of speed while flying the ship and better dodge/evasion mechanics. Overall though very impressed so far.
This game seems excellent, especially the PVE only aspect of it, but I can't seem to find a matchmaking system for friendless losers. I wouldn't mind the option to have more 'buddies' bots if there isn't going to be a matchmaking system anytime soon, but a 'repair buddies' and 'ammo refill buddies' would be especially nice.

Of course, not everyone’s thrilled. Some players have pointed out that the game still needs better optimization and that the solo mode could use a bit more balance. But most of the criticism has actually been aimed at the dev team at Keepsake Games for using AI during development. That said, it’s worth noting they only used AI for voice lines, and they’ve already said those will be replaced with real voice actors as the game gets closer to launch.
So if you haven’t checked it out yet, now’s the time, Jump Ship’s demo is only available until June 16th, when Steam Next Fest wraps up. As for the full release, the game’s expected to hit Early Access sometime this summer.
