LotR Gollum's Already High Requirements Have Just Become Even Higher

If the previous requirements of the PC version of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum caused you concern, now you can be terrified. This is because Daedalic Entertainment has updated the title's required specs on Steam.

Last month, the developers at Daedalic Entertainment revealed - let's not kid ourselves - the considerable system requirements for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum on PC. Even then, it was not easy for gamers to understand and stomach such specifications, and now it will be even harder to do so.

It turns out that the game's card on Steam has quietly updated the aforementioned requirements. The changes only include the graphics cards. See for yourself:

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum - minimum PC requirements (medium settings, 1080p)

  • Processor: Intel Core i7-4770 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600
  • Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 (previously GTX 1080) or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT.
  • DirectX version: 11
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • Disk space: 45 GB
  • Operating System: Windows 10/11 64-bit

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum - recommended PC requirements (high settings, 1440p, ray tracing)

  • Processor: Intel Core i3-6100 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600
  • Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 (using DLSS; previously RTX 3080) or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT.
  • DirectX version: 12
  • RAM: 32 GB
  • Disk space: 45 GB
  • Operating System: Windows 10/11 64-bit

Given that there are still a lot of gamers whose PCs do not even have the GPU for the minimum requirements (not to mention RTX 40 series), the full potential of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will be available only to a narrow circle of PC gamers.

Finally, let us remind you that The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will make its debut on May 25 on PC, PS4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. The title will also hit Nintendo Switch at a later date.

An introvert by nature. Since childhood, he felt a closer connection to humanism than to the sciences. Instead of exercises in maths, he preferred shutting himself up in his world and inventing new stories of his favorite anime – Dragon Ball. After years of study came a time of stagnation, which he preferred to call "searching for purpose." Looking out for destiny during the 58th screening of his beloved Die Hard, he decided – like John McCLane – to fight for a better future. He found the avenue to do this in Gamepressure. Since he's still a freshman in the newsroom, he doesn't have a target subject he wants to focus on yet. So, you can expect news about farming simulators, or the impact of Johnny Depp's trial on the future of Pirates of the Caribbean. If you ever hear that playing console games and watching movies is futile – remember this story
