- The Witcher: Monster Slayer debuted on Google Play and App Store;
- The game sparked a huge interest at the time of its release;
- Many users are complaining in the comments about the prolonged wait for the servers to go live.
We finally lived to see the release of The Witcher: Monster Slayer. The AR game appeared today in Google Play and App Store and immediately aroused huge interest among players. Even before the launch of game servers, websites were filled with hundreds of comments about it. This situation has become problematic for the creators because of impatient players. Among the published opinions we can find unflattering comments on the operation of servers.
"Really? A technical break in the morning on the day of release? I have to walk two kilometers to work, on my own two feet. I could go out earlier and have some fun, but no! There's a technical break until 8 a.m. This is already embarrassing. Let me guess, if I leave work at 4 p.m., there will be break until 8 p.m.?"
- Joan K.
"I just installed and can't get into the game because it won't connect to the server. I don't know if it's overloaded, but how do you play if you don't get further than the loading screen? I'm waiting until something improves."
- Piotr Suszczynski
Such spontaneous reactions, however, prove the game's potential. Inferring from the published comments, many people actively awaited the appearance of the title in stores to be able to immediately download it. So the creators will not complain about the lack of players. It only remains for them to make sure that the players stay with the game.
However, the sheer playability is what may help The Witcher: Monster Slayer. In an interview conducted as part of the Summer Game Fest 2021 the creators argued that it's not just a Witcher clone of Pokemon GO. The game is more focused on single player mode. The work of Spokko enables us to impersonate a monster hunter living many years before the events known from the games and the books. The virtual world is filled with monsters and the witchers' help is essential for the survival of mankind.
The creators also admitted that in the game we'll encounter monsters that have appeared neither in CD Projekt RED's games or Andrzej Sapkowski's works.. Many beasts await us that will often surprise even the biggest fans of the universe. When battling them, we will rely on a progression system offering three skill trees. So it remains for us to grab a phone, download Monster Slayer and go for a walk.
