They remove the game for those who bought it, even though it offers a campaign. EA: „It's an online-only title so once the servers go offline, the game will no longer be playable”
The exact day on which Anthem will be cut down has been set. The game doesn't offer an offline mode, so it will stop working, which is ironic in light of the success of Stop Killing Games' campaign.

In February 2021, Electronic Arts canceled the project known as Anthem Next, thereby ending the development of this production. You may be surprised, however, by the fact that the game servers are still running and you can play it without any problems. However, this state of affairs will not last long, as the publisher has just announced that Anthem will ultimately end its life at the beginning of next year.
We have an important update to share regarding Anthem. After careful consideration, we will be sunsetting Anthem on January 12, 2026. This means that the game will still be playable online for the next 180+ days. As of today, you can no longer purchase in-game premium currency, but you can still use your remaining balance until the servers go offline.
Does this announcement surprise anyone? It seems to me that no, and looking at the players' comments, many of them were not even aware that Anthem was still working.
Wait a minute! Is this game still on? I thought they turned it off years ago.
However, this is not the case, and if you suddenly feel the urge to check out BioWare's game, you now have a limited time to do so. After January 12, 2026, it will no longer be playable and you will not be able to download it. EA emphasized that Anthem was designed exclusively as an online title; therefore, it doesn't offer an offline mode.
If you would like to do this through the EA Play subscription service, you have even less time. Anthem will be removed from Xbox Game Pass much earlier, on August 15th this year. What's interesting, the company also noted that "the termination of the Anthem project didn't lead to any layoffs."
It's hard not to notice that EA's announcement coincided with the success of the Stop Killing Games initiative, which aims to push publishers to leave their games in a playable state. I don't know if anyone will cry over the death of Anthem, but it would still be nice if EA decided to add an offline mode to the game, so we could come back to it anytime.
