This Element is Bound to be Better in Redfall Than in Prey

Arkane has boasted the size of its next game, Redfall, comparing it with the size of Prey, one of its previous works.

1. A single region with the farm from Redfall, just one of many sections of the game's map, is larger than the entire Talos space station, where the events of Prey took place.
2. Talos was the size of five American soccer fields. If one were to take the entire map of this station and drop it into the middle of the aforementioned region with a farm, the location from Redfall would accommodate it in its entirety and there would still be a lot of free space left.
3. Arkane emphasizes that Redfall is by far the biggest game in the team's output to date.
4. Despite this, the devs do not aim to create a gigantic open world. This is due to the fact that we will move through it on foot, so the developers did not want us to waste time laboriously traversing large stretches of terrain.

Of course, the size of the game may prove a double-edged sword. After all, Arkane's games are famous for their carefully designed and architecturally complex levels. This raises the question of whether the developers will be able to provide a similar quality in a game with a large open world. The developers themselves reassure that their latest creation will retain the style of gameplay known from earlier projects, and is also expected to be very entertaining in single player mode, and not only in co-op.

Redfall is coming to PC and Xbox Series X/S. Initially, the game was to be released this year, but it was recently announced that it will be delayed to the first half of 2023. The game will simultaneously launch in Game Pass - both on PC and consoles.
