In recent years, a lot of battle royale games appeared on the market. Only a handful of them were successful - the others turned out to be flops. Ubisoft has just admitted that Hyper Scape ended up in the latter group. The publisher has announced the closure of the game's servers.

When will the end of Hyper Scape come?

The game's death won't be instantaneous.Hyper Scape's servers will remain active until April 28, 2022. So if you feel like checking out this title, you have three months left to do so.

Hyper Scape didn't even last two years on the market

Life of Hyper Scape was short. The open beta launched in July 2020, and the full version debuted a month later. Thus game's story will come to an end after a mere 21 months. Ubisoft was undoubtedly hoping for more.

Ubisoft is not giving up on the battle royale genre

When announcing its intention to shut down the servers of Hyper Scape, Ubisoft said that the lessons learned from the game will be used to improve upcoming games.

We already know that the publisher does not intend to abandon the battle royale genre. The game belonging to this category, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Frontline, which is currently being tested in closed beta, is in production.
