Confusion Over Warzone 2; Preload Rules Clarified

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0's preloads have proven to be highly confusing, and many players have considerable doubts about the option.

The preloads of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 went live yesterday. Unfortunately, the way they were implemented caused confusion.

  1. Preload is done via the CoD Modern Warfare IIlauncher. Through this app, we will also play Warzone 2.0.
  2. Requirement to use the launcher has caused some players to assume that the full version of CoD: Modern Warfare 2 is required to play Warzone 2.0. Moreover, some people witing for the launch of the latter see messages that claim MW2 is required. In reality, however, the launcher itself is free and you don't need anything else to play Warzone 2.0.
  3. In the case of the PC edition, the pages dedicated to Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 have already appeared on Steam and Battle.net. You can also find the game's card in PlayStation Store and Xbox Store.
  4. Those who already have installed CoD: Modern Warfare 2 do not need to perform a preload. They already have all the required files on disk.
  5. The preload is incomplete for now. It applies only to the core files of the game and shortly before the release you will have to additionally download the update with Season 1, also if you have MW2.
  6. The game will launch tomorrow at 10 am PT.

Recall that the game will hit PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S simultaneously.

In addition to the battle royale mode known from the previous installment, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 will also offer DMZ, which is a new gameplay mode that places great emphasis on the narrative aspect and freedom of action.
