Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is an online FPS that is a sequel to the hit 2020 title. The project uses a free-to-play model with micropayments and was developed by Raven Software studio. It was designed to complement the universe presented in CoD Modern Warfare II.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is not particularly different from its predecessor in terms of gameplay. The basic game mode is battle royale, where a large group of players is dropped onto a large map, and the game goes on until only one of them is left alive.
However, it is not completely the same game. Indeed, the developers have prepared a number of changes and improvements. The biggest of these is a completely new map - the desert Al Mazrah. In this area we will find a lot of modern equipment and vehicles.
We will also encounter a number of NPCs on the map. They mainly appear in specific areas. Their AI, on the other hand, is designed to attack players who open fire on them.
One of the hallmarks of battle royale games is a regularly shrinking action zone. In Call of Duty: Warzone 2 this system occurs in a slightly modified version. This is because it can happen that instead of one large area, the map will split into three smaller ones, which will merge only in the final phase of the match.
The focus has also been on limited items. On the map you will find a number of stores where you can buy gas masks, armor and weapons, among other things. However, the number of available items is limited and they may sell out.
An important novelty is the Gulag, where selected participants of the game are sent. It is a multi-level arena filled with loot that can be taken away. To return to the main map, you must defeat an AI-guided guard or win a battle with other players in 2 vs 2 mode.
The production offers mainly multiplayer battle royale gameplay.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0's battle royale is an iterative upgrade. If you enjoyed the original Warzone, you'll enjoy the new one. The DMZ mode, on the other hand, is new, and a lot of fun thanks to the fact that you're never sure if you're going to run into another player as you try and complete your own objectives.

It is early days for Warzone 2.0 and I imagine this early phase will be all about listening to the community and engaging in their feedback. I do have some things I’d love to see changed or altered over time, but the gameplay loop is absolutely perfect for me. It feels less about players constantly rushing for loadouts and more about fighting with a mixture of what you can find on the ground.
