Wolfenstein II is the second part in a trilogy; third game to feature Mecha-Hitler

Wolfenstein 3D gave players something precious: a chance to kill Mecha-Hitler. This iconic boss will most likely make a return in Wolfenstein III, the last game in a trilogy.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is the second game in a trilogy, as the creative director Jens Matthies from Machine Games told Giant Bomb. He also hinted that in the third game we are going to see (and obviously fight) Mecha-Hitler, the iconic boss from the original Wolfenstein 3D. “Once you introduce Mecha-Hitler (…) you can’t go out from there”, said Matthies, implying that before we get to take on the world’s most hated figure (in a mech suit!) there needs to be a worthy prelude first.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is going to take the fan-favorite, B.J. Blazkowicz, to the United States occupied by Nazi Germany. The commando will join the local resistance and fight the Nazis in a spectacle of bullets and expolosions, probably leaving the players with a cliffhanger at the end of the game.

Since Machine Games is planning a Wolfenstein trilogy, that would make both Wolfenstein: The New Order and its standalone expansion Wolfenstein: The Old Blood the first part. Perhaps the second game too will get an expansion like that. Either way, the next chapter of Blazkowicz’s story is going to launch on October 27, 2017 on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
