Yakuza Kiwami Is Coming West on August 29 - Watch the New Story Trailer

While the players in Japan have been playing Yakuza Kiwami since January, their Western counterparts must still wait several months before they join them - until August 29.

SEGA has revealed the Western launch date of Yakuza Kiwami to be August 29, 2017, which is six months after the Japanese release date. The remake of the first game in this popular “Japanese GTA” series is going to be available on PlayStation 4 in digital and physical versions for $29.99 / €34.99 / L29.99. Pre-orders and limited first-run copies will be packed in an elegant SteelBook, which is presented at the end of the new story trailer:

Using this opportunity, we should also menton that the publisher has prepared the so-called Yakuza Experience Website, where you can find an interactive timeline and character map as well as the first chapter of a 10-part comic book series “The Dragon’s Path”, following the events from Yakuza 0 up to Yakuza 6. These materials make a great help for everyone who wishes to learn more about the universe and find out what all the fighting really is about.

Apart from HD graphics, Yakuza remake offers almost 30 minutes of new cut-scenes, which give more insight into the story and create a bridge between this game and the prequel. Fans will also notice new mechanics, side qusts, improved combat and rerecordered dialogues.

The next in line is Yakuza 6: The Song of Life. This new installment in the series is currently scheduled to launch in the West in 2018.
