During the game and exploration of the planet Atropos, you will face many opponents of various types who have unique skills and different combat mechanics Some enemies (aliens, turrets) may also have a barrier that shields them from damage caused by ordinary firearms.
Opponents with additional protection are easy to distinguish because of the red barrier around them. The barriers in the Returnal can be destroyed in two main ways.
- You need to get close to the target and use a blade to attack;
- An alternative is a gun with a Shieldbreaker modification but it is quite rare.
