STALKER 2: Kill or spare Hermann?

You will meet Professor Hermann in the game's prologue, when he helps Skif get across the Zone border. The mission fails and the scientist disappears for almost half of the game. When they meet again, Skif may decide the fate of the traitorous Herrman. On this page, you will learn what are the consequences killing or sparing the scientist.

Is it better to kill or spare Hermann?

You will meet Hermann for the second time during Skif's visit to the SIRCAA institute. During the mission Wishful Thinking, you will come across a bound and beaten scientist in the same room as the mysterious Agatha. At this point in the story you will already know that Hermann betrayed Skif, exposed him to danger, and used him as a tool to achieve his own goals.

Agatha will hand you a gun and allow you to decide on Herrman's fate.

1. If you decide to kill the scientist, Hermann will not appear in STALKER 2. This decision does not carry any immediate consequences.
2. If you spare Hermann's life, Agatha will free the bound prisoner and let him go. The Professor will appear later in the game.

Killing or sparing Hermann has no drastic effect on the course of the mission. Further conversations and objectives will not differ.

The decision in SIRCAA institue also does not have a major impact on the game's ending. For this reason, we recommend that you follow your own judgment when it comes to deciding Hermann's fate.
