We have talked about Stalker 2 a lot during recent days (we have even an interactive map and a guide). No wonder, though, as this game is on everyone’s lips. However, sadly, often because of performance issues. The game is full of bugs. We have to wait patiently for patches or look for workarounds. In this guide we will try to help you with the case of a bug which forces players to walk and blocks running.

How to Fix Running Bug in Stalker 2

The bug we are talking about expresses itself by blocking your ability to run. Obviously, it is not an ideal situation, especially due to the fact that fights with mutants are often not worth it. First of all, check if you are not encumbered or if you didn’t toggle walking on your device. If you are clear on that, then you are facing a bug. How to solve it? Luckily, it is easy.

The most straightforward way to deal with it is to load the last save (or the one before the bug happened). Alternatively, you can start leaning and press another movement key like crouching or walking/running. This two workarounds seem to be the most successful.

Hopefully, one of these methods will help you. At this point it is unknown when the bug will be fixed, as GSC Game World studio has many problems to take care of. Developers have their hands full right now with issues like not working HDR, A-Life or Day/night cycle (and more). Let’s hope that they will deal with them sooner rather than later.
