Subnautica: Floating Island - biome guide

It's one of the two surface biomes in the game. It can be found southeast of the starting location. To localize it, you'll have to swim near the surface, as the island isn't anchored in the sea floor.

There are no typical underwater resources to be found on the island. What you can find, are numerous species of plants. Some of them, such as the Chinese Potato or the Lantern Tree can provide seeds, enabling you to grow them in your bases. This will improve your food supply.

One more thing that's on the island are alien bases, where you can find various technologies and recipes, e.g. for the multipurpose room. One of the bases will contain the Purple Tablet, which will enable you to enter the alien base on Mountain Island.

The island itself is relatively safe. The only native predator is the small cave crawler. You can take them out easily even with the standard knife.

The Floating Island is a biome that you'll most probably visit only once. Once you scan everything, pick up all the recipes and seeds, there's really no reason to come back.
