Subnautica: Grassy Plateaus - biome guide
Last update:
This biome is located in the central region of the map, and its bottom is overgrown by red grass. The maximum depth in this zone is around 140 meters. The topography is mostly flat, with occasional rock outcrops. That's where you can find limestone and sandstone in this biome.

Near the surface you can encounter Reefbacks. While usually they keep close to the surface, occasionally you can also find them near the seabed.

- The grass hides deposits of quartz and salt. The entire area is a good source of alien eggs, which can be used to produce energy for your bases. They are easy to miss in the grass, though, so be sure to equip your base in this area with a Scanner Room.
- The zone is characterized by moderate danger levels. Your main problems here will be Sand Sharks and Biters.
- The biome is useful due to its abundance of potential power sources. Otherwise, you'll find here only basic items and a wreckage, in which you can find some schematics. Once you get them, and assuming that your power supply isn't based on bioreactors, the area will lose its usability.
