Watch Dogs Legion: Remote control of vehicles - what for?

In the game, there is a feature allowing players to hack any vehicle driving on the streets (or sailing on the Thames), even if someone is driving it at the moment. All you have to do is point at the vehicle, press the hacking button and choose in which direction it should move. Then the machine will carry your command.

While this may seem useless, it does have certain applications in the game. You can use this to distract the Albion guards.

The vehicle set in motion in this way reaches high speeds and often ends up crashing on the walls of surrounding buildings. This causes a lot of confusion, which distracts the attention of the surrounding NPCs. They will approach the crash site and stop for a moment to observe the situation. This way, you'll be able to clear your way and sneak in without risk of detection.

This will work not only on the streets, but also in restricted areas. Often in these areas you will find parked vehicles that you can set in motion. That way, you'll lure the neighborhood guards. Importantly, it can also provoke the patrols inside the buildings to leave the building.
