Avowed: How to destroy barriers?
In Avowed, in order to reach certain places, you will have to burn barriers made of trees, knock down walls, sometimes even destroy bars. If you don't know how to get rid of metal bars, we explain it on this tutorial page.
Sometimes in Avowed you will have to destroy a barrier blocking the passage to certain places. While spider webs or wooden barriers are easy to destroy, metal grates can cause some trouble. Fortunately, our Avowed guide will tell you how to do just that.
Destroying metal grates
Right from the start of the game you will notice that some passages are blocked with barriers. Fortunately, most of them are easy to destroy, for example the flammable barriers shown in the picture will quickly disappear if you hit them with fire. It can even be Kai shooting them with his ability.
In the case of grates, the task is not that simple. Neither of the starting companions, Kai and Marius, have a special attack that can deal with them. Your only hope is ice spells or grenades that explode into ice upon impact with the ground. When you hit the grate with them, you will immediately open a new path.
