What does poison do in Avowed?

Poison is a negative status that you can either receive or inflict on your opponents. It causes the health of a poisoned character to slowly decrease. This process lasts for quite some time, so it is a good idea to get rid of it first if it affects your main character.

How to get rid of poisoned status?

There are two specific items in Avowed that can cure you of poison very quickly. These are Springberries and grog. Therefore, if you notice them anywhere while exploring, or find them in the offer of a given merchant, it is worth stocking up on them for future journeys and fights.

Also remember that taking damage from an attack that inflicts the poison status is not a threat unless the poison meter fills up completely. You can also increase your resistance to poisoning by improving your Constitution stat. Also remember not to eat spoiled food, otherwise you can very quickly get poisoned unnecessarily.
