10 Most Powerful Game Endings

Sometimes, a poor game with mediocre plot suddenly becomes something amazing. Everything can change with an extraordinary ending. Here are the 10 most powerful ones!

Table of Contents

Join me, on... whichever side of the Force! - Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

  1. Release date: 2003
  2. Genre: RPG
  3. Metacritic score: 93/100 (reviewers), 9.0/10 (players)

We mentioned Heavy Rain's "Light side of the Force", so it is difficult to end this list with a better example than Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - after all, it's all about the Force. The ending of KotOR generally had two levels of shock, depending on our style of play and decisions made throughout the game. Only at the end it turned out that for the whole time we were playing as a Sith dark lord - Darth Revan.

If we were on the "dark side of the Force" from the beginning and these were our choices, this discovery was more of a confirmation of our choice. However, if we acted like a rightful Jedi knight, this fact was quite surprising and could have caused a small twist of Force in our minds. However, the Light side choice became canon, and so did the male gender, regardless of our choices in the character wizard at the beginning of the game - those were the times in 2003.

  1. More about Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Our list obviously does not exhaust all games with interesting, surprising endings. There are a lot of titles left, like NieR : Automata, Batman: Arkham City or the independent Rime. And what are your suggestions? Which endings shocked you the most? When writing them in the comments, do not forget to hide key information with the SPOILER tag!
