Azeroth's All Saints. Who Can We Meet in WoW Shadowlands?

A new addition to World of Warcraft, Shadowlands, gives us the opportunity to meet many characters killed earlier – we invite you for a short guide to the strange and dangerous WoW worlds.

Table of Contents

Station no. 3: The foul Maldraxxus

Just watch your step here! In Maldraxxus, you never know what you will step on. It was here where the Plague was born, and you can tell. A really, really unpleasant realm. Oh, and I recommend you pinch your nose. Dead people do not seem able to smell anything, but the scent permeating this zone can terrify even a dead soul. Forgive me for my attitude, but I hate even to come by here.

On the other hand, we must not forget that Maldraxxus is the sword of Shadowlands and it was the local factions that protected us from the Burning Legion. Now, the factions are divided and you shouldn't expect to see any cooperation between them. What's more, everyone is fighting everybody all the time here! So let's try to sneak past here unnoticed.

You see that corpse, traveler? This is the corpse of "Captain" Cookie, with whom you probably fought in Deadmines. Yes, on that Defias Brotherhood ship. Cookie first served under Edwin VanCleef as a cook, but wasn't satisfied with that and declared himself a captain. This did not change anything, because he continued to serve a VanCleef, only this time Vanessa, Edwin's daughter. As a curiosity I will add that I have yet to see another murloc in Shadowlands! A most curious matter...

A much more interesting person in Maldraxxus is Olgra, Mankrik's wife. As you can see, the mystery of her vanishing was solved only in the afterlife. Mankrik and Olga fought the quilboas, but at one point the husband lost sight of his wife. "Where is Mankrik's wife?" - this question was asked by many people, and eventually it turned out that she died in battle and her soul ended up in the Shadowlands. However, as you can see, her combat fervor has not waned and she still fights bravely!

In Maldraxxus, dear traveller, you will also find Amber Kearnen, the SI:7 agent. If you fought for the Alliance, this character should be well known to you. She was a spy for her faction and she did an excellent job. Unfortunately, she died at the hands of Legion while on duty - her death was not in vain, as everyone who had the soul of a rogue in them will testify.

It is worth mentioning that not just anyone becomes the head of a faction in Maldraxxus. For example, we have Lady Vashj and Draka. The former used to serve Azshara, but eventually responded to Illidan's call as a naga and help him fight the Legion. She meets her demise in Serpentshrine Cavern, fighting in his name.

Draka, in turn, was the mother of Thrall. She died as a result of Gul'dana's plots, but she managed to save her son, who was later taken prisoner by humans, and save Azeroth many times in the future. Draka herself plays a very important role in Shadowlands - known as Baroness Draka, she leads the House of the Chosen. When she was still alive, she fought for the Frostwolf clan. Now she has the Maldraxxus army under her care, although at first she was involved in espionage.

Draka tries to calm down the situation and resolve the conflict between the various factions in Maldraxxus. The realm is being consumed by internal conflict, and Primus, who managed the entire zone so far, has disappeared. He has left a disturbing prophecy, related to Jailer, who is said to be joined by Kel'Thuzad himself! Yes, the same Kel'Thuzad, who is responsible for what happened to Arthas.

Finally, I will also mention that we also have a few world-class celebrities in Maldraxxus. If you join the Necrolords, you will meet the entire KISS band, Ozzy Osbourne, Slayer's Tom Araya, and some representatives of Nightwish or Black Sabbath. There was also a place for Judas Priest and Babymetal. As you can see, fans of heavier sounds will find something for themselves here - who said the afterlife cannot have good music, huh?

Obituary: Alexandros Mograine

Cause of death: Ashbringer, wielded by his son.

Mograine's story is a dark stain on the pages of the history of Order of the Knights of the Silver Hand. He was also known as Ashbringer (the nickname came from the weapon he wielded). Mograine met his demise at the hands of his own son, controlled by dreadlord Balnazzar and Kel'Thuzad. The legendary weapon was defiled and Mograine himself was resurrected as one of the original Four Horsemen. He is defeated by his second son, who takes the weapon and escapes. Alexandros' soul was also warped and as a result of these unpleasant events, he takes revenge on his killer. In the end, father's soul is saved once again by the second child who sacrifices his own life to free Mograine from Plague's influence. Unfortunately, this is not the end of the story.

Darion, the son who rescued his father, is called to the service of the Lich King, as a death knight. He wields Corrupted Ashbringer and wreaks havoc on the ranks of the living. Alexandros' soul reappears when his son is defeated, but he himself becomes a prisoner of the Lich King. Only after he was defeated, Mograine finally makes his way to Shadowlands, where he still needs to be rescued. Who would have though, right? If I've made some mistake, forgive me, but the story of this character twisted and quite confusing; I also do not know it first-hand - every soul I encounter offers slightly different details about him, more or less canonical.
