Wartales

  1. Developer: Shiro Games
  2. Platform: PC
  3. Release date: 2022 (available in Early Access since December 1, 2021)
  4. What is it: a combination of strategy and RPG, in which we lead a squad of mercenaries

Wartales is another production of the Shiro Games studio, which has brought, among others, the best "Settlers" in recent years – Northgard. The developers thus have experience in creating strategy games. In their next production, however, they decided to experiment with a different genre, creating a tactical RPG with sandbox elements.

In Wartales, we will lead a group of mercenaries trying to make ends meet in a world plunged into chaos. During the game, we will be forced to travel through dangerous lands, looking for jobs that will make our living. The map that we will explore will be full of many smaller locations and opportunities to get rich. Each location, however, can turn out to be a big challenge because of the presence of other people or bloodthirsty beasts, who once used to be human, but were transformed by a plague.

Where's the strategy in all of this? In numerous skirmishes that we will have to conduct. The battles will be turn-based and will require players to carefully consider each step. We will have at our disposal a team composed of characters with various skills and preferences regarding weapons. In combat, we will have to make sure our units are properly deployed. Gradual development of the camp will also be important for our progress.
