Reforged means what exactly?

This is a bit of an overstatement. Warcraft III: Reforged will not so much be re-created anew as it will be just a refreshed version of the real-time strategy game that established a new canon in the genre in 2002. The new version will offer content from the main game and the add-on The Frozen Throne, improved graphics, and improved gameplay balance.

What exactly is new in Reforged?

Well, it's less than originally promised. Contrary to the original plans, the scenes from the campaign will not be recreated, but will only get cosmetic improvements. There will also be no full support for mods from the original game, or additional content in the campaign. We will get a lifting of the visuals and a lot of corrections in the balance of the game, which should make the online battles a bit more fair and tight.

OUR EXPECTATIONS

I really need Warcraft 3: Reforged. Not because I miss this game (although, of course, the power of nostalgia has a say), not because it is the resurrection of one of the most important RTS games in history. I need Warcraft 3: Reforged because this is an unusual repetition of the history of Azeroth. Those, who still play World of Warcraft and are currently coming to grips with the betrayal of Sylvannas, the controversial "overthrow" of Bolvar, or the death of Saurfang, crave the simple and exciting beginning of the story. You see, the lore in Warcraft years has become so complex over the (saturatted with characters, new lands, plots, timelines, dimensions, and other deities) that there has been an inflation of power. This is a bit of a Dragon Ball case – who else should Son Goku fight if he already fought even the gods? Meanwhile, the stories of Arthas, Thrall, or Jaina Proudmoore – though not the first on the game's vast timeline – are among the most important, underlying, introducing, and tying the action. The consequences of their actions will be found in every DLC and every important conflict. So, this is a good time to go back to the time when we knew exactly what Warcraft was about. And, by the way, this is a reanimation of the genre that once celebrated triumphs on the PC. If you've never played Warcraft 3, this is exactly the moment to change that.
