Shadowbane – monsters falling with the 'Exp method'
In this case, it was very simple. For years, monsters in this game would fall through textures, underneath the map. This did not apply to every multi-story building in Shadowbane, and only occurred in a few locations that smart players noticed and decided to take advantage of. How?
They would gather in the given spot, using only characters with area-of-effect attacks. Then, they would simply use their abilities to attack monsters on the other side of walls. At first glance, that's nothing special, but what happens if a player is able to get a whole pack of monsters to a single spot? Monsters took turns falling under the textures, and when enough of them were collected, the crazy grind started.
Of course, blocked creatures were not a threat to players, who thus acquired an ideal place for rapid ‘exping’ their characters. Interestingly, the developers were informed about all this, but for a long time did nothing about it.
