The very arena on which our protagonist, the roller-skating lover, moves is incredibly original. It gets even better when it comes to clashes with human and mechanical enemies. Killing enemies replenishes HP, and performing acrobatics yields ammunition.
You have to admit that the idea is really bizarre, but so what if the fun itself is great. If we add to this the excellent fluidity of animation and landscapes straight from Moebius comics, it even gets nostalgic. Or at least it would if we weren't attacked by hordes of enemies.
In the beginning, you will probably die a few times, but when you sense that the protagonist has a significant speed advantage and has access to basically inexhaustible resources, you may find yourself spending the entire weekend in front of the computer. Maybe you'll even call in sick?
