Ranking 7 Best Quests Of The Witcher 3, On Its 7th Anniversary

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt just turned seven years old and it still remains an exemplary game when it comes to both main and side quests. Check out what we think are the seven most interesting quests on the seventh anniversary of the game's release!

Table of Contents

Carnal Sins

  1. Quest type: side
  2. What I love about this quest: Non-linearity, showing how side quests should be done in games
  3. Score: 9/10

One of the most interesting side quests with a big plot twist was Cardinal Sins. This seemingly trivial taks of finding someone or something that attacked Priscilla turns into a really engaging investigation with a surprising ending, much to the liking of anyone who still remembers the Vizima investigation quest line from the original Witcher.

From the very beginning of the quest, it's apparent that something exciting will happen. It turned out that Dandelion's LI was attacked by a murderer who leaves cards with the names of his targets in the bodies of his victims (kinda like the Origami Killer from Heavy Rain). After some time, in the course of the investigation, I managed to find priest Nathaniel near the next victim, and I must admit that I was certain he was the one doing the killings. After a moment of conversation with the alleged murderer, however, it turned out that he was not a religious zealot, but an inconspicuous morgue coroner. Moreover, the man was in fact a formidable, higher vampire.

I still remember how big an impression this quest made on me. I was even more amazed when, years later, I discovered that it was possible to leave this mystery unsolved. Some players simply killed Nathaniel and considered the case to be closed. You could complete the whole game and never discover the truth about the serial killer. Small adventures like this make it impossible for me to get over how good a game the third Witcher was. I'm just crossing my fingers the next one will be excellent, too.
