Fans of the Final Fantasy series could certainly point to many sequences from various installments of this epic that they find memorable. Most often, however, it's the beginning of part seven that's considered the most engaging and emotional. This is probably in part because FFVII was the first game to be released for the PlayStation, back then a cutting-edge gaming platform. The game had stunning visuals and a surprisingly mature story, because instead of knights and magic, there was a greedy corporation, an environmental disaster looming over the world, and somewhat of a terrorist mission to complete, with a plethora of colorful characters in the background.

And yes, all the talk is about the original version of the game – from 24 years ago! Today, we can get to play a solid remaster of that sequence, and it, along with the introductory video, looks more amazing than ever – which is all the more reason to be impressed with what the devs have done. They had far more modest resources at their disposal, and still created a timeless classic.
