What is Spider-Man: Miles Morales?
Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a standalone sequel to the 2018 game. It's hard to say for sure whether this is really a new production or, in fact, an additional feature campaign, in which we will play the eponymous Miles Morales, who takes over after Peter Parker. The title is being prepared for PlayStation 4 and will offer a much better visual experience than the original, but also a few extra attractions.
What's new in Spider-Man: Miles Morales?
The main novelty in Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be a new main character. We will play as a young boy who took over the role of Spider-Man. He will receive a separate storyline, which is a continuation of the story from the previous production. The main axis of the game will still remain the same – we will get a package of missions to perform, as well as a hero with a slightly larger range of abilities. There will also be swinging on a spider web around the vast New York.
OUR EXPECTATIONS
Insomniac's Spider-Man was a very decent open-world action game. In terms of mechanics, it had only one special thing. But swinging on a spider's web around the city was a genuine thrill and in fact the only thing that made you want to look for collectibles. In Miles, all I need to be happy is the same mechanics returning, because I've missed them for the last two years. Everything else is a welcome but essentially redundant added value.

Marvel's Spider-Man was for me one of the absolute best games of 2018. This is partly due to the fact that I have a lot of sympathy for the character, acquired in my youthful years, when I absorbed the comic books. However, to a large extent, it was simply the result of Insomniac Games being able to design a really good, satisfying production that, in terms of gameplay, appealed to me more than most superhero titles – even the acclaimed Rocksteady games. Whizzing around New York on a spiderweb, eliminating enemies quietly or directly, all of which was incredible fun. The technical side did not disappoint either-the game looked beautiful and from the first to the last minute it was almost perfectly smooth.
I sincerely hope that the developers will be able to repeat that success in the case of Miles Morales, and even build on these foundations something even better – because there is room for improvement (e.g. side quests where someone obviously pressed the Ctrl, C and V keys way too often). I wish we were getting a real sequel, but it still seems like my favorite launch title on PS5.
