Controlled characters collect items and use them in puzzles in order to push the story further. Adventure games usually offer only single player mode and the point-and-click interface. In Gray Dawn, the players observe the action from the first-person perspective, and the gameplay revolves around solving environmental puzzles. The main protagonist is haunted by dark visions that make for the grim atmosphere of the game.

Technobabylon: Birthright is a cyberpunk adventure with a point-n-click interface. Unlike the previous installment of the cycle, the continuation offers full 3D graphics, but the gameplay is still focused on exploring and solving puzzles.

A detective visual novel adventure game by Kadokawa Games, set in contemporary Japan. The production is extended by a new content of the original remake, which was released in 2016. The re-edition replaced the original two-dimensional illustrations with photographs and films of actors characterized as heroes of the title.

Hiveswap is an adventure game based on the popular webcomic Homestuck. It was financed though a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, gathering almost 2.5 million dollars. Initially, the game was to be developed by two studios: What Pumpkin, founded by Andrew Hussie, the creator of the original comic, and Odd Gentlemen. The latter, however, abandoned the production to work on the episodic reboot of the King's Quest series together with Activision. Hussie calls Hiveswap an adventure game parody.

It tells the story of two female protagonists: a policewoman and a district attorney who are on the track of a serial killer. Up to five players can participate in the game, although it is also possible to play the title alone. All players are using a special phone app called PlayLink.

At Rite of Ilk, we take control of two children heading to the top of the Ceremonial Tower to devote ourselves there to serve the gods. The game takes place in the 19th century Japan and tells the story of a young girl named Chizuru Yukimura, who travels to Kyoto in search for her father, a respected physician and scientist.
