The production of the game was supervised by the creator of the brand - Shigeru Miyamoto. The title combines elements of classic platformers from the Super Mario and Super Mario Bros series with the capabilities of an innovative platform, offering, among other things, a three-dimensional image.

The player directs the actions of the hero, who has to restore the harmony disturbed by Chaos in a space called Rhythm. The gameplay consists mainly of pressing colored icons to the rhythm of about 50 melodies and songs from the main scenes of the Final Fantasy series.

TwinBee is a refreshed version of a classic two-dimensional shooter produced in the mid 1980s by Konami. Players control a bird's-eye ship as they try to destroy all enemies on a board that moves from top to bottom. In an effort to be consistent with the original, developers decided to make changes to the game's audio-visual setting, adapting it to the capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS console, including its three-dimensional display.
