A city builder strategy game developed by the independent studio Mothership Entertainment. The player arrives at the planet Aven Prime, assuming the role of the founder of one of one of the first extraterrestrial colonies. His tasks include expansion and settlement of new areas, taking care of the settlement’s technological infrastructure and the morale of its inhabitants, as well as fighting dangerous fauna and results of extreme weather conditions. The action takes place in varied environments: starting from swamps, through deserts, to icy polar regions, which influences the conditions in subsequent missions. The core of Aven Colony is the single player story campaign. The game also features a sandbox mode where we have no additional tasks apart from commanding a space base. The production’s graphics are high-quality not only because of the well-designed environments but also thanks to interesting designs of futuristic buildings.

Another installment in a series of karaoke games popular among the users of Nintendo Wii consoles. We Sing can be considered a reboot of the franchise. Similar to the classic karaoke, the player's goal here is to sing different songs when the program displays the lyrics and plays the instrumentals. Performances are rewarded with points assigned by KaraEngine (an evaluation system). We Sing features 30 songs in total, including such classics as Abba's Dancing Queen, David Bowie's Let's Dance, or newer hits - See You Again by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth for instance. The game can be enjoyed either solo or with others in one of the six modes available. Because We Sing can be considered a party game, up to eight contestants can meet next to one console - part of them can use their smartphones as microphones. One can share their scores with others in online rankings. Additionally, the player can watch the video clips included in the game. High-quality visuals were delivered thanks to the advanced Unreal Engine 4.

System Rift does not introduce any novelties into the gameplay mechanics, which still allows a lot of freedom of action and choice of one of several alternative ways to achieve a goal. A stealthy approach and careful observation is still the most profitable option, and awarded with numerous secret collectibles. The plot of the add-on is rich in plot twists. While playing, we are taken to Prague where Adam Jensen takes on a completely new mission. It was given to him by his former partner, Frank Pritchard, whom the protagonist owed a favor. The hero’s task involves infiltration of a local data bank. In its course, Adam Jensen has an opportunity to get to know several new characters better, a hacker named ShadowChild known from the Breach mode being the primary one.

An independent tactical RPG with a turn-based battle system set in alternate version of ancient Greece, in which the history has been changed by the invention of steam engine, starting an industrial revolution. The player acts as a warrior and champion of the goddess Artemis, with the power of changing into a bear. The campaign gives a lot of freedom and we can take on various tasks, which affect the storyline. Hellenica is based on tactical jRPGs (especially the Final Fantasy and Vandal Hearts series) and the visual novel genre. This is visible in its visuals, with manga-like backgrounds and pixelated boards, but also in gameplay. Game focuses on turn-based battles, in which players control a team of heroes, who become stronger and gain new skills with progress in game.

Created by The Aristocrats, an expansion pack for Order of Battle: World War II. Most importantly, Blitzkrieg introduces new units for Germans (Panzer III and IV tanks as well as planes - Bf109, Fw190, and other weapons, such as the 88mm anti-aircraft cannon) and Allies (Matilda and Char B1 tanks, the legendary Spitfire fighter plane, as well as armored trains). Furthermore, the expansion includes a story campaign based on historical events - it comprises 12 scenarios in total. Among the novelties, one will find a system of specializations that for instance, allows the player to familiarize their tank drivers with the Auftragstaktik doctrine or create Waffen SS divisions. Particular units gain experience on the battlefield and can be transferred both between separate scenarios and entire campaigns. Both the visuals and the gameplay formula remain unchanged in the expansion. As a result, the game is still all about turn-based battles taking place on maps filled with hexagons.

An original open-world game combining elements typical for titles such as Spore or Minecraft. The game was created by Arc System Works, and the TOYBOX Inc. studio led by Yasuhiro Wada - the father of the Harvest Moon series. Birthdays the Beginning casts the player in the role of a creator of worlds, whose goal is to create a planet, along with a breathing ecosystem rich in life. Once a universe has been generated, the player decides about topography-related aspects through raising mountains and creating valleys where water, the source of life, can gather. What's more, the player has to provide things such as adequate temperatures. At the beginning, the player uses simple, unicellular organisms that get to inhabit the game world. Later on, the player leads them through subsequent stages of evolution - from different plants and dinosaurs, through creatures resembling present-day animals, and ultimately to reach humanoid beings. Birthdays: The Beginning offers colorful, three-dimensional visuals accompanied by a light atmosphere.

Developed by an indie developer David O’Reilly, Everything generates worlds, which you can watch from any perspective you like. Each universe can be observed in both micro and macro scale. You start playing in a particular place of a procedurally generated world, but the rest is completely up to you – you are free to take control of a single atom, animal, or object, and focus on its immediate whereabouts, or control an entire planet, star or even galaxy. The gameplay has no specific goal – what you do and why you do it is your choice. As you jump between different elements of the universe you create its encyclopedia – objects that you discover are catalogued, after which you can view them in a special menu. All that is complemented by decent graphics and atmospheric soundtrack as well as lectures of the philosopher Alan Watts. Interestingly, Everything is the first video game in history nominated for Oscar in the Best Animated Short Film thanks to its several-minute trailer – that film had also won jury’s award at Vienna Shorts Festival.

As we play, we lead a party of heroes we have personally created. Exploration of the game's world (mostly made of bigger and smaller towns and dungeons) is presented from a first-person perspective. The point of view changes to isometric when we enter combat. Properly using our characters skills and abilities will make us victorious in battle.

A rare example of an MMORTS game set in a retro-futuristic universe. Developed by a French independent studio – Insane Unity – Win That War! combines the gameplay mechanics typical of real-time strategy games with online interactions. The game allows the players to choose a side in a war between three megacorporations, which fight against each other for control over newly discovered planets full of precious minerals. In the game, one assumes the role of a general of an army comprised of futuristic tanks and airplanes. Combat teams can be dispatched to different locations on the surface of a beleaguered planet, where one can either leave them on their own and allow the AI to lead the defense of a planetary sector, or lead the army in person to battle hostile players. Battles are typical for the RTS genre: a player has to acquire resources, build factories, recruit new units and dispatch them to fight the enemy. In return for victorious battles, players are rewarded with currency, which they can spend on drafting new armies and improving existing ones. The technology research trees allow the players to unlock new structures and combat vehicles. Apart from the main MMO mode, the game offers a chance to play non-committal multiplayer battles and skirmishes against the AI.

An unusual hybrid of a shoot'em up and an action RPG. The players are taken to a planet which was torn into pieces as a result of a global cataclysm. Those who survived the catastrophe had to conform to the harsh rule of megacorporations. In opposition to those, smaller and larger tribes emerged, whose members earn their living as mercenaries and smugglers. The protagonist is a smuggler himself, who pilots a combat ship while taking part in air battles, fighting armies belonging to the corporations, and trying to make it out alive. The game is played from a side view, and the experience is based on dynamic action, as the player constantly moves to the right and eliminates everything that stands in their way. The game was divided into randomly generated missions and the player fights different enemies while completing them. Among the adversaries, heavy cruisers are the toughest, because they serve the role of bosses here. To achieve victory, one has to maneuver their ship (it represents one of three classes) effectively, juggle different weapons, attacks and special moves skillfully, as well as to make a good use of the seventy active and passive abilities. Drifting Lands has eye-pleasing visuals, as it offers a colorful, cartoonish graphic style.

Hearthstone: Knights of the Frozen Throne is the sixth expansion for the free-to-play card game Hearthstone. It was developed by Blizzard Entertainment and can be bought through the game’s store for either real or in-game currency. This expansion focuses on Lich King’s army and his kingdom of Northrend. Just like the Whispers of the Old Gods DLC, Knights of the Frozen Throne tells an alternate version of the well-known events. This time we will see what would have happened if the greatest heroes of Azeroth (Jauna Proudmoore, Rexxar, and others) became Death Knights, the undead servants of the Lich King. Knights of the Frozen Throne continues Blizzard’s policy of not releasing small Adventure DLCs and focusing on bigger ones. We get a set of 135 cards inspired by the Lich King’s army and the theme of death, including nine cards of a completely new type – Hero Cards. After using them, our hero changes into a Death Knight, gets a new portrait, war cry, ability, and a few points of armor which allows us to change our play style. We can test the new cards in PvP matches or in the single player campaign, during which we will be able to face the Lich King himself. The expansion also introduces a new battlefield and card backs.

Bullet Soul: Infinite Burst comprises several game modes – apart from the standard mode called Normal, in which the player completes consecutive stages of the story campaign, there is e.g. the Caravan mode (known from the first installment), in which one attempts to achieve best time score, as well as Bancho Mode, which allows the players to develop their skills. Moreover, one can play alone, as well as in cooperative mode with one additional player. The entire experience is pleasing to one’s eye due to the game’s pretty visuals featuring cartoonish graphic style.

A special edition of a space simulator that came out in 2013. X Rebirth VR Edition was created by Egosoft, specifically for VR headsets. In similarity to the core game, X Rebirth VR Edition is set many years after the events depicted in the previous installments of the series. The player takes on the role of a space adventurer that gets involved in a complicated political affair, having stumbled on the wrongdoings of one of the factions controlling the region. The player controls a spaceship and completes different assignments requiring them for example to fight enemies, clean away space debris or to transport goods; however, trading is also an option. This version of the game introduces several changes to the mechanics - those involve e.g. the functioning of the galaxy - and brings improvements to the economic system. Additionally, the developer implemented new missions, refreshed the interface, improved the balance of the experience and adjusted its pace to the specifics of VR headsets. The game utilizes a new graphics engine and is the best-looking installment in the series so far.

A Hole New World is a 2D side-scrolling platform game inspired by productions from the golden age of NES console. The game has been developed by the Spanish developer Mad Gear Games and is a demanding old-school production without any tutorials or handicaps. The player is equipped with a single weapon and a simple set of moves, with which he has to handle the encountered dangers using only his creativity and agility. The main protagonist is the Potions Master – a mysterious warrior tasked with defending the world called Versee from the hordes of darkness. Long ago, a goddess called Yakshini has separated the Upside-down land from Versee – she used this secluded world to imprison the forces of evil. Unfortunately, the goddess has soon vanished, and the treacherous Lord Baduk managed to open a portal between the two worlds and use it to invade Versee. The Potions Master is the only one who can defeat the forces of evil. He can deal damage to the enemies by throwing potion vials at them – these potions can also cause thunderstorms, create fireballs, and even grant the main protagonist special abilities, such as double jump. The Potions Master is aided by a fairy named Fäy – a small creature, who can turn herself into a light bullet at will. The game features 5 lands waiting to be explored by the player, as well as several endings, and an optional CRT mode allowing one to change the visuals to make them similar to the CRT screen.

A twin-stick shooter, created by an indie studio called Fermenter Games, inspired by cartoons from 1990s. The story, with a touch of specific humor, plays in Neighborhorde a secondary role. During the game we play as anthropomorphic animals. Their mothers aren't happy with the fact that their children spend too much time on video games. After being forced to go outside, the children have to face robots, sorcerers, zombies and even dragons who got here by a recently opened portal. What is important is that the children have to defeat them before dusk, because when that happens, they will have to go back home for their bedtime story. The action is presented from a top-down perspective and the gameplay is focused on eliminating hordes of enemies by using more than 40 types of weapons and battle skills. Both our heroes and enemies become gradually stronger and the key to success is to cooperate with other team members.
