1930s New York is a graceful setting for a video game. Developers from the independent American studio Seismic Squirrel, who had previously worked on games in the Far Cry and Mass Effect series, as well as Sovereign Syndicate, among others, decided to combine ?modern realities with an alternate reality. Thus was born an RPG entitled Aether & Iron.

Gameplay in a smuggler's sk?re

In Aether & Iron , we view events in an isometric view. Playing the role of a smuggler, we mainly deal with smuggling contraband. However, as your career in the world develops, you gain new opportunities and can even join the rebellion. When making choices, we must be aware of their consequences, because our decisions can affect not only our future, but also the future of the city and its residents. In addition, you must be careful not to step on the toes of the big shots shaking the metropolis.

The Gamerheads Podcast : by Roger Reichardt

The story, voice acting, art, and music are outstanding in Aether and Iron. I also appreciate that the game takes a chance with its dice-rolling mechanic. However, I would have liked to see failures carry more weight from a narrative perspective, while still earning experience in the process.

  • Improved Gameplay Mechanics: Suggestions included refining the combat system, enhancing the interface for vehicle customization, and adding more meaningful interactions in the narrative.
